My name is Pam Hamilton and I am in my tenth year teaching sixth grade at ACMS. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Psychology/Business Admin. from Point Loma Nazarene University; a Master of Arts in Multicultural Education from PLNU; Gate Certification; and have nearly completed my Mild/Moderate credential in Special Education.
Prior to teaching and children, I spent five years as a Human Resource Manager for a large Advertising Agency in Los Angeles. Living in Santa Monica, working in Marina del Rey, driving a little red convertible; life was good! However, it wasn't my dream. I returned to San Diego to complete my MA in Education, and became a teacher!
I have been teaching for twenty-three years, teaching every grade K-7. I began my teaching career in 1995 with Coronado Unified in San Diego then moved to Mammoth Lakes to spend another five years substitute teaching at the local elementary school. While in Mammoth I began teaching Early Childhood Development classes at the community college and until recently, spent 15 years teaching online classes for the same community college.
Education is one of my passions.
My family is my most precious passion. My daughter and son are now in college on the central coast and my stepson is living his dreams just a few hours from his siblings. They were all sixth-graders once upon a time, and have grown into lovely adults. All three of my children enjoyed their sixth-grade experience, my hope is that yours will too.
